The sun sets on another day...
Another fine day of mush and mist that gave us a glimpse into the rain we all must face. Icky. Still, the day was a good day for a long time, and the sun shone for a great deal of it, so there is some solace in that.
Where is it written that a rainy day must be bad, or a sunny day must be good. Where are the rules that say any day must be any more than any other, or that today is a greater day that yesterday? (Oh wait, I wrote that here) Where is it written that every moment can't be the best moment you are having? Where is the logic that you have to be sad to be happy and be happy to be sad and so forth and so on. Why can't we just be happy?
I am sometimes confused about the circular logic that some people have in their lives. Those thoughts that say that a person must be happy or unhappy because of a situation and there is no choice. So instead of the circular logic saying that if you lost your job, your trailer, and your dog you must be miserable (and a good candidate for a country song) that maybe you can still be super in spite of being in that country song.
We have a choice that is just like Cindy Lou Who, who when she woke up with no presents found a way to be happy. Maybe we just need that innocence back. Maybe we just need to be happy with what we have, no matter what it is.
So as the sun sets on another day, I think I need to watch the Grinch again. There are so many reasons to enjoy each day, even when you think there are one left. There are so many reasons to find a way, even when they way doesn't seem clear. Take a moment, find your way to smile, and then be happy, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, laugh a little, and love all you can...
