The sun sets on another day...
The sunset was there somewhere, but I could only see it in my mind, a promise of something more, and my thoughts drifted to a dozen dozen things, and maybe a little further as the colors of the twilight raged only in my mind.
It is an old question, which came fist, the chicken or the egg. The debate is amazingly intricate. Whether the chick was born, created, evolved from something else or another equal solution or that an egg suddenly appeared and gave us a chicken as it hatched. I suppose we can thank Meijer or Kroger or Whole Foods for the free reign egg that gives us chicken solution. I propose an equally maddening question: Which came first, the sunrise or the sunset.
No matter your spirituality there is a madness to this question as well. Was there light first, or darkness first. If there was light first then there would have been sunset first, well, maybe, but if there was darkness first, would there have been sunrise or sunset if there was nothing to see it?
Who cares, right? Both questions have no answer.
Maybe our question is more simple. At what point do we notice? Unless there was a KFC hiding before the egg was made, there was no one paying attention to the chicken or the egg, nor was anyone paying attention to the sunrise or sunset until they realized its beauty or its use.
A crazy intro to an even crazier question. Which comes first, you or everyone else? Is it you because you are the foundation of you, or is it everyone else so you can be you because of everyone else? Where would everyone else be if there were no you, and where would you be without everyone else? I know it is a tough question for some.
You know, I would love to say the answer is balance and have a Mr Miyagi come out of the woodwork and say something prophetic, but as I consider it has to be more "you" than anything else to allow you to be that person that can help everyone else, right? At least it is something to consider.
So as the sun sets on another day, maybe the world needs more of you, maybe the world needs less of you, but you need all of you before you can share any of you. Whether chicken or sunset, you came first to you, and you will be with yourself to the end, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy it every day...
