The sun sets on another day...

Often on Holiday's we find ourselves making decisions that can affect our lives. The effects can be as long reaching as the Holiday's themselves. On this beautiful Easter Sunday with the amazing sunset, I considered a number of Easters. All had an impact on my life, and on how I saw the world. After all, life is a series of choices, some take us one way, some another, but every choice leads us somewhere.

On an Easter long ago my father made a choice for me. My home was broken, my mother going through her own battles, and my father going through his as well. I remember clearly going to my fathers with my little sister, singing "Here comes Peter Cottontail" as we drove down the road. For some reason I remember the road clearly, more clearly that I should be able to see. After all, I was only 6. I remember having fun, I had two step siblings through my fathers new marriage, and we had a good day, a good dinner, candy, and all the stuff that kids remember.

Since then, every few years I somehow get a decision right around Easter. As a young man, and as a man I have been hurt, hurt, laughed, loved, made good decisions, made crappy decisions and generally been bounced like a rubber ball and it was around this day. On Easter I have made good friends, and on Easter I have lost very special people. The point is, although every day is a pivot, Easter has been a big one for me. I rarely talk of it, rarely say much, and rarely emote much, just because the emotions are a bit strong. Funny thing is, I always consider Easter a happy holiday! I hope you do as well!

So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you have a good Easter. I hope you had a good day, I hope you watched the sunset as I did, on a pier, slowly watching the light fade. I hope you saw more in the world today and realized how great life can be, and in the process found a way to happiness, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love, and laugh a lot....I know I do....
