The sun sets on another day...
Wow, as the sun set it was full or color, but no warmth on this icy day. The cold was harsh, but in the end I enjoyed every moment of the sunset, and enjoyed the waning light as we crossed into night.
Take a deep breath, feel the air go in and out of your lungs, concentrate on the feeling of the air flowing in and out of your lungs, now consider: Do you think it feels the same for everyone?
It may seem like an easy question, you may jump in and say "Of course" because are we not all the same? A good question. Is it true? Are we all the same?
It is my opinion we are not. Science can back me up on this more than a little as we all have differences based on genetics, environment, and all of the in between that make us who we are today. In the end, my deep breath may be considerable larger than yours, mainly because I am considerably larger. Others may not.
So why then do we assume everyone feels the same, thinks the same, do we think that every person has had the same experiences? The happiness that overwhelms me each sunset may be less than perfect for someone else, or even ignored. That is not a bad thing, but my point today is we have to accept and be happy with others, even if we have different experiences.
I have talked to someone I knew from high school lately. The opinions being presented are very stoic in nature. I understand their point of view completely, but they cannot even begin to fathom their point of view is anything less than perfect. Others may be angry, but I understand, they are the sun of their experiences and they do not have the ability to see beyond their opinions right now. Perhaps someday, perhaps not, but the truth is it should not change a positive opinion about them, in fact that singularity may be a good thing. We are all difference engines that determine actions based on our programming, from past to present. We all determine our actions based on the breadth of our experience. We should accept others as we accept ourselves, and validate them, even if we do not agree, for that is what makes us better.
Huh, a weird post for me, for that I am sorry, but I have been considering it and the sunset tonight, well, it just inspired me this way.
So as the sun sets on another day, the best thing in life is to accept the unacceptable, understand the misunderstood and try, just try, to see more than you ow path but instead to enjoy all you can and when your path crosses others, be there if they need you, and not if they don't. In my opinion, this is a great way to happiness.
Sleep sweet, love, and love some more...no matter what....
