The sun sets on another day...

The breeze blows now as the night has closed in, embers of the eve light the night sky with the soft fires of the fading twilight, in the moment i rest easy and feel the peace settle over me, for i know that in every night there is the promise of a new day.

Ever notice how sometimes you really have to make a boo boo to find your way. Recently I finished my first novel and continue to work on the second in the series. I was not aware that the company that publishes for you can block your ad campaign, even though they approved it all and pre-screened. Now I know. So it is with much excitement I release my former book under a new name that cannot be misconstrued in our very correct society. In my failure I have found a new pathway and I trust those people who have guided me, to keep me honest and moving forward.

So too should we all move forward, knowing we could have issues, but knowing there are those who will be there for us and help us overcome them. So start your first book, make sure your life is where you want it and do the things you think you should knowing that if you fall, there are those who will catch you and accept you, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and do it, whatever it is...

The sun sets on another day...

The warmth of the waves of light rained down upon us, showing us a pathway to the west to follow until we reached our destination.

Sometimes we get lost when we are doing things, and we just need a flare from a good source to move us forward. There are so many good sources. These include friends, relatives, churches, organizations, and sometimes people who honestly just want to help. The point is we don't always have the sun in the west driving us to a destination and sometimes need help. It is up to us to reach out and ask for the help we need and listen when the help comes.

So as the sun sets on another day, when darkness comes a callin, be callin fer help, and someone will be shooting a flare, no matter what...

Sleep sweet, enjoy life, and pray every once in a while, it does us good...

The sun sets on another day...

The cool breeze blew across the lake bringing with it the pungent aromas of a dozen memories, and in the process, both uplifting and chilling my soul with their embrace.

I was looking through a lot of old posts and came across a list of words to live by in my text files. Among them was "You are what you do. Not what you say." and it called to me for today.

We hear a lot of statements about how we should be and never are they more evident than during election times. As we look at people and what they are talking about we also need to look closely at what they have done, not just what they say they have done, but truly what they have achieved that is truly verifiable, and not in contention. (Because people always agree on what is real and what is not, right? (lol) We should expect our lives to be remembered as well by what we have done, not just what we have said we have done, and by something that we feel good about. (After all, we all know about the Nobel prive, but do we really all know where the money came from?)

So as you are considering people, consider what they have done as much or more than their words, and don't get lost in the rhetoric. By that same token, be certain you are paying attention to what you are saying, and delivering what you say if possible, and if not, communicating such.

So as the sun sets on another day, say what you mean to do, and do what you said, and sometimes, just do something great without saying, that too will be remembered.

Sleep sweet, love what you do, and do it...

The sun sets on another day...

The sun is setting, the skies lit with the colors only the sunrise and sunset can provide. As it sets there is suddenly a storm. Is the moment gone?

I take pictures each and every day, as many people do. Some days I get quite a few, some days I get only 1 or 2 as there are times that make it more difficult. It does not, however, have an affect on the day or on how I feel about the day. As someone once said “Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect.” So I do, and so should everyone. When we are faced with disappointment or a touch situation it is hard, but we need to rise above and find another route to happiness. So, if it rains on sunset, perhaps there is something indoors to enjoy. If the night closes in we can turn on a light.

This is sometimes harder to deal with when it comes to a variety of emotional situations. Depression and the host of mental impairments have become rampant, but perhaps they were always there? Perhaps what is missing is the ability to see beyond the moment to another where there is a positive outcome, and move in that direction. Far be it for me to suggest that is a solution for everything, I am not a Doctor, nor a Psychiatrist, but I do believe we can overcome some items just by talking to friends, and others, and finding a way to see something positive instead of functioning on the negative. Perhaps there is a way to happiness without eliminating the spirit with a multitude of mind numbing therapies. (Oh no, not electroshock too?) Lightheartedness aside, maybe we should just watch a sunset together, hold hands, talk and work through issues instead of avoiding them.

There will always be tough times. We cannot imaging some of the things others have gone through, nor can they imagine some of the things we have gone through but I will never forget my Grandfather. Each day he got up and spent time stretching. His bones creaked and cracked, his gnarled hands worked out slowly and he took his time each day to move again. I asked him if it hurt, and he said that it was worth it just to be here. At the time I was not really cognizant of what he meant, but realized later that each day, he made the very best of the day, in spite of the day and gave of himself to everyone.

I recently talked to a very special person who was vibrant and full of life, and it was not until much later that I found they were a cancer survivor and dealt with a lot many could not even consider. Her view of the world is wondrous and childlike even having faced the grim specter of darkness that cancer brings upon us.

So as the sun sets on another day, consider the day, and if it is great, enjoy it, and if it is not, find a way to enjoy it anyway, after all you deserve the best day every day, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love the day, and live for passion each and every moment...
