The sun sets on another day...

Sometimes we take for granted how we are connected. A flower, for example, depends on the sun but I doubt the flower considers the effect the sun has on it. (You know I am giving flowers brains here for a second, please cut me some slack)

Anyway, sometimes a flower will grow so much it blocks the sun from other things, and even from itself, eventually withering until enough growth allows it to be seen again and then the cycle restarts.

We sometimes do the same thing (Well we don't grow and block out our light, but I will get there.) Sometimes we are so intent on ourselves that we do not see how we are keeping those things (or people) that could save us or make life easier from helping us, saving us, or even being around us. Ooops.

As people (since we do usually have brains) we need to pay attention to others and to ourselves and create situations that will make our lives better, more complete, and in the end that will (or should) lead us forward to a better life.

So as the sun sets on another day, keep you roots planted while you reach for the stars, trust your friends, and with them, chop up some weeds so you can grow. (Metaphorically)

Sleep sweet, love life, and be happy no matter what...

The sun sets on another day...

For 250 days I have taken time each day to post. 250 days of enjoying observations, people, and of course the sunsets and pictures each day. Before I posted weekly or less, but after the reset I vowed to make each day a personal goal, and each post a meaning to someone in the hope that if one person enjoyed it, it would be worthwhile. There have been days it has been difficult, mostly because of time, and a few days where the internet has interfered and I have had to adapt to get the post, but still I made it. Why? Because each day is an adventure that is worth it and worth sharing, each day can be a lesson, each day a picture of beauty, and each day a reason to look at the world in wonder. Somewhere along the way this site has gained over 1.2 million hits.

Next month I will begin putting together the 2017 calendar. The 2016 calendar was given away to a variety of people. I hope to expand such so that everyone can have a sunset on their wall.

I will also put out a rather shameless plug.  In January of this year I completed my first full length fictional novel. It was released with a few errors on kindle, which were repaired and now the book is available in paperback and on kindle. I have been questioned about the name a few times, but if you read the book, it will make sense. The second has a much less painful name.

If you have time, I would appreciate a read, and perhaps a review. I worked hard and had help from  some great people in editing, and next time I will take it even further. You can see it here.

Finally, I am not the only person on a personal question. A friend of mine has posted a picture a day since January 1, he has also take the 1 second a day video challenge and as always, he succeeds. You can see his daily posts here. Each day he gives us a lesson in beauty, may we only learn from his determination.

So as the sun sets on another day, remember to set goals for yourself, and make them your personal passion. Believe in people, and believe in yourself, find a way to truth, and never lie for the sake of a lie, instead live the truth, whatever the cost may be. Each day may be a special challenge, but together we can achieve anything. The future is never set, there are so many permutations in the essence of chaos, so many choices, so many minor items that can change the world that each moment can be the moment that makes a difference... so, make a difference. Make a difference to yourself, to your friends, your family, your loved ones, the the ones you love or have loved, but be that person they know you are, and the person you know you are, no matter what...

Sleep sweet, love life, and sorry for the sappy post, at least I believe what I say, and say what I believe... (smile)

The sun sets on another day...

You know, sometimes I think songwriters are reading our minds. It is a scary thought but consider all the songs that come on that are similar to what you feel, or what you experienced. Consider the poetry that flows from the lips of a singer, and how much talent they have for not only speaking the words, but for forcing us to feel beyond what we see and know, perhaps touching us at the core. Singers like Christina Aguilera have a voice that can move mountains and there are many that will pull a tear out of the most stoic man or woman.

Perhaps we should all consider the songs that truly touch us, mean something to us, make us feel, remind us of a special someone or a special time, or just get us to stand and feel proud. Perhaps we need to keep those songs close to our heart.

So as the sun sets on another day, consider the song in your heart, and enjoy it for a moment, and if you have a special song or a story, send it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I may blind and use it.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live every day like it is 28,999....

The sun sets on another day...

As I drove today I watched the sun set (Probably not the safest thing to do while driving, but I was careful.) As the sun set the thin bank of clouds was illuminated by a plethora of colors that seemed to be pulled from every known warm palette and the sky shun like an erupting volcano.

I was both in awe and frustrated by this turn of events as I expected a minimal sunset, and was once again surprised when the super beautiful jack in the box sunset jumped out upon us all and said "nya nya" (Well it was a rough translation).  I of course had no way to stop and safely get a picture, so I committed it to memory to share.

It is the same in life sometimes. Often we are deceived into thinking things are bad, and in the end life can give us a "Nya Nya" and surprise us with something amazing. This night I was amazed positively, and if you watch correctly, there really is no other outcome. As long as we are alive, and can strive for more the layers of clouds will never keep us down. We can be the ones that rise above and say "Nya Nya" and prove to the world we are a positive force in whatever we do.

So as the sun sets on another day, consider that what you may think of as a negative may turn out to be something different and maybe sometimes be a positive paintbrush to your life.

Sleep sweet, love life, and paint the wind if it makes the world a better place...
