The sun sets on another day...

Nicolas Sparks said in his tear filled book, The Notebook

"Dusk is just an illusion because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are there cannot be one without the other yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel I remember wondering to be always together yet forever apart?"

Consider. There are some people who just are "together", even if they are not "together". They share a common bond, a spirit, and something more. Even apart, they are strong, and because they know each other exist, they are better than they could be alone. If they are "together", the heavens may tremble as the passion, life, and love would be beyond compare.

In the Notebook Noah reads to Allie daily, and tries to find the one path where they can be together again, and in doing so defines how they are forever. How amazing it is to be able to say to some one, "I am who I am because of you."

As the sun sets tonight and we pass dusk, consider the people who have defined you, and who have made you a better person, because they loved you, believed in you, and perhaps still do. Perhaps one day you will find this person, or have already, and one day you will be together, but no matter what, hold on to that feeling of hope, and much more.

Trust in love, trust in life, and sleep sweet.

The sun sets on another day...

Merry Christmas.

There are so many topics to consider on this wonderful day that it is difficult to choose, but perhaps in the end it will not be the topic, but the day that leads us all forward. Close your eyes, wait, ooops, close your eyes after you read this and take a moment to consider the last year. As you do so, consider all the happy times you have had, all the truth in your life, all the wonderful feelings you have felt, the times where you helped someone then received that special smile, and the times you held someone, and felt a special bond. Remember the sunsets you saw, and the sunrises that propelled you into a new day. Remember the happiness when you looked someone in the eyes and simply said "hi", and the times you saw life give you more, and held on to the feelings that you knew were special, and always would be.

As you consider the good, let the bad slide to the side for a while, just a while, as it is too easy to remember the bad, and the good should be at the front of all we do. Trust yourself, and remember, the truth always finds a way.

This year and every year on Christmas, remember you are a good person, or find a way to become a good person.

Open your eyes, prepare for a new year, and love the moments like there are no others.

Tomorrow may come, but waiting for passion and love can be a hell worse than any other.

Sleep sweet, remember what Christmas means, and love your life every day, without that, can you truly show anyone else love?

The sun sets on another day...

We sit here one day before Christmas, and inportant day for many, and a more important day for some.

Let's take a stab at an old poem:

Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse..stirred...

Ooops, maybe not. sometimes we get so tied up in what we think we should do, that we lose what we really should do. I should rewrite this poem and be a bit creative, and try to spin how we should pay attention to light, and life and stop wasting our days wallowing in self inflicted misery, but perhaps I need to just say that. So let's try something a little more pointed. Steve Jobs once said:

"When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, some day you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "no" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. ~Stanford University, 2005"

You know, if everyone looked at the world like that, we would all be in a better place. Happiness would be a goal instead of a vacation. Life would be worth living, a job would be the place you liked to go, or it would change, and the person you were with would step up, or step out, or be stepped out. We have become a society that feeds on fear and guilt in many ways, and this simple quote, that was not by Steve Jobs, but used by him to succeed, would give us all a chance to succeed.

So on this wonderful Christmas eve, enjoy your family, enjoy life, and look at the way to happiness, as if it were your very last day. Live hard, work hard, and love to the moon and back, and even the stars beyond.

The sun sets on another day...

The cold wind blows on us and lets us know winter is here. We are blessed by every moment we feel that cold, and hold onto each moment of every day and wait for the warmth of our friends, family, and loved ones to embrace and enfold us like no other can.

I remember Phil's speech from Groundhog Day which was as follows:

"When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Punxsutawney and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter."

Perhaps we should look around, and hold on to those people in our lives that make us whole, and give us hope for tomorrow.

Live life, live for love, and find passion in everything you do...
