The sun sets on another day...

There are many poems about the sunset. Some look at the positives of the night, some look at the night as the enemy, and some just focus on the beauty of the moment.

Frank Sinatra said it well when he sung:

From moment to moment every moment that I live
I live for every moment with you
To see you, to touch you, to imagine this will be
The moment when a dream comes true

Perhaps we need to see the sunset as a moment when our dreams come true, and maybe just maybe they will.

No long treatise tonight, just a dream that is a wish our heart makes, and a moment that may be beautiful for us all.

Sleep sweet, love life, and love it some more, you deserve it....

The sun sets on another day...

The lightning flashes, we feel our hearts warm at the prospect of a new beginning past the storm, and new life coming from the carnage wrought until the storm fades.

Sounds better than, "Eeek, lightning is gonna take us all!"

A lot of times you have to weather a few storms before you appreciate the fact that a storm is but a moment, a loss another moment but our lives are filled with powerful positives each and every day if we just look. Focus on the positive and you will always find it. Grab an ice cream cone or a wonderful candy (I got Boston Baked Beans at the Lakeside Emporium last night). Smile at a child and watch the wonder in their eyes. Read a book and enjoy the moment or even just take a breath and enjoy it. All of the painful things that keep us down are transient, and though we may never forget, we can move past and enjoy life.

Remember spilling your ice cream is bad from your point of view, but from an ants point of view it is a feast.

(Well, it sounded good)

So as the sun sets on another day, look at life from every side you can, enjoy the moment and find happiness in everything you do, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live it, each and every day!

The sun sets on another day...

So it has before, a million million times and more the sun has set and a million million more to come. How can we comprehend or know what time is when we are but a moment in time, perhaps less than a moment? or are we?

We consider our moments often, people stress about life almost more than money, but do we consider the moments that are amazing to us, those that will be remembered? We worry about the bill that needs to be paid, and lose sight of the child we made smile; we worry about the time we have to watch TV, and lose sight of the moments with our loved ones; we worry about so much, and maybe there isn't a reason to worry.

Once upon a time we were happy with our moments, then we grew up and learned that we were not, or at least taught we should not be. I am asking, perhaps telling everyone who is reading that we need to take our moments back and enjoy them as if they were our last, not because I said so, but because it is the right thing to do. We need to live life so fully, that when we finally fight our last windmill we can easily say "I had fun, I made a difference to me, and made a difference to others." If we can do that, perhaps as a thousand thousand sunsets pass, we may still have made a positive impact on life, and even on our world.

So as the sun sets on another day, simply sit back, relax for a moment, and then grab on and make a difference to yourself and everyone around you, make sure the world knows that you live life and don't just exist, grab on, play an instrument, take a picture of your dog diving for a Frisbee, build a craft out of a Darth Vader toy that makes someone smile, but make every day THAT day, no matter what...

Sleep sweet, love life with every ounce of who you are, and make this life the best life anyone has ever had....

The sun sets on another day...

What a wonderful day, and a more wonderful sunset, each and every day is worth appreciating, and so are you.

In my somewhat always Christmas mind I was talking to a group today about putting one foot in front of the other and my odd brain went sideways. It reminded me of the "Santa Claus is coming to town" stop motion movie where the wizard has to put one floor in front of the other to soon be walking out the door. We often are so focused on walking that we don't see the door, or so focused on the door we don't walk too well. He made it out the door but had help every step of the way. We don't always have that help so we walk ourselves. Scary huh? Do we risk falling and watch the door (The dreaded look at the prize mentality) or do we look at walking only to realize we just walked into a wall. (Which can be hard on ones nose)

The answer, in my opinion, is yes. To walk through the door we need to be focused on the myriad of tasks necessary to walk across the door AND we need to keep focus on the door, both so we see the goal, and so someone doesn't build a brick wall in front of us while we shuffle across our path. Without a goal we can easily go in circles, and without a movement towards the goal, we see it as an impossibility.

One more thing, remember once you get to the door, there is another door down there, or at least make one so you keep moving forward.

So as the sun sets on another day, appreciate the journey and the destination, and wall until you pass through the door, no matter what...

Sleep sweet, love someone, and be loved, always...
