The sun sets on another day...

On this day many years ago a lot of good things happened, and a lot of really bad things happened. Hard to know which mean more in the grand scope of things. If you consider that we would not have known the quote "To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle" (Walt Whitman) Nor would we have seen Big Ben go into operation. There are so many things that happen each and every moment that are awe inspiring and amazing we tend to overlook them. There are so many opportunities to learn, that today, lets take a moment and absorb a few.

So as the sun sets on another day realize every day is special, and every moment an opportunity to be more and learn more, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, enjoy your moments, and love life, more then ever....

The sun sets on another day...

A great deal of accomplishments today lead me to a little time to watch and take pictures of a still and amazing sunset. As I watched the sun setting in the west a woman walked up and watched with me (Actually 2, but one was taking pictures as well, we tend to pack up as the sun sets and ended up with about 6 people). So anyway this woman had a heart locket on her neck and we began talking about it.

She told me that it was old and she had it for a long time. and that a friends mother always grabbed it and held on to it whenever she saw her and told her "I have your heart". As we watched the sun set and enjoyed the moment I considered all the days that we should wonder who holds our heart, and conversely whose heart(s) we hold.

In truth, a heart is a fragile thing, and too often we forget how precious it is as we hold and protect someones heart. Perhaps we should consider the awesome responsibility it is to hold a heart, and vice versa. The days are too short to do otherwise.

So as the sun sets on another day, hold on carefully to the hearts you protect, never betray them, and pray each day that you are treated the same, with the respect you deserve and given a heart that is true.

Sleep sweet, love life, and love, just love...

The sun sets on another day...

Today as I looked across the hill and took the sunset you see above, I was amazed at all the people who were there with me, watching the sunset and enjoying the moment. It is interesting to consider many of them, the young lady with her father, learning to take pictures and loving the moments; the middle aged woman walking the beach picking up trash that others had left while stopping to take pictures; the dozens of people with cell phones hoping to capture a moment; the young man and woman, watching the sun set as they held hands and kissed the night away.

The passion was overwhelming as these people and hundreds more were packed watching the sun dance with the night until at last it moved beyond the horizon, and smiled at us with a plethora of colors, just for the twilight.

The beach that was empty just a few weeks ago, with only a handful of photographers and crazy people is now filled. So how many sunsets does it take to feel the passion that we need? My opinion, whatever it takes. For those of you that enjoy one sunset, I hope it was as amazing as tonight's. For those of you out there with me, sharing what we can. Thank you, and I hope you feel the passion I do each night and hold on to those colors, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the moments, every single one...

The sun sets on another day...

...and we welcome the beginning of Memorial day weekend. On this day we should consider all those people who have passed before. Not just those that were in the service, which is the purpose of the day, but those we feel made a difference in our lives.

We should all consider a special thanks for those people who are the fantastic forces that make our country the way it is, through their sacrifice we can be the free nation that we are and offer much to those who live here.

One further, if you have someone special, take a moment and consider them as part of each and every sunset, no matter what. They are worth it.

So as the sun sets on another day, and fireworks go off and people consider the gift veterans have given, be thankful for them and say a kind word, if it is only in your head.

Sleep sweet, love life, and love life some more...
