the sun sets on another day...

It is amazing to see the flurry of iridescent colors that make up a sunset. As the sun passes into the horizon, the color is spread through the skies and lights us all with a different amazing view each day. Similar, as each day passes, the exact location of sunset shifts ever so slightly as well, moving the location enough that by that view as well, each sunset is different. Even more, unless we put an X on the ground, we too are different each day, and we find that we too are a factor in making things different.

So as we look upon today's glorious sunset, remember tomorrows will be fresh and new for all to see, and all to enjoy.

No deep meanings today, just enjoy the sunset and each other...

The sun sets on another day....

Each day of our life is a series of decisions that create a series of decisions, that create a permutation of our decisions and the decisions of others to make a complete picture of a life. some are easy and happen without intervention, we add to the complexity as often we make decisions that directly influence the outcome, even though the outcome is not totally within our control. If you think about any one decision in a day it can give you a headache. If you consider how a large decision can positively or negatively affect your life, and consider all the permutations of such, you may be headed to Bellevue.

Each sunset we experience, whether we see it or whether it is above the clouds is a series of random points that include water vapor, pollution, angle of incidence and a host of other factors that create a different sunset each day. This makes each sunset as complex as a life, full of possibilities, and always unique.

By definition a labyrinth is "something extremely complex or tortuous in structure, arrangement, or character", so by chasing sunsets are we part of an infinitely complex labyrinth in an infinitely complex labyrinth being who we are in this world?

I for one feel that if we think about the infinitely complex sunset we are viewing, we will loose the beauty of it, just as if we consider how complex our lives are, we lose the beauty of them and in the end, shouldn't we just sit back, hold someones hand, and enjoy the moment, and if we chase the sunset to the end of time, be like Don Quixote, and "be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause". If we are not willing to put our lives out there for our Dulcinea, can we truly say we have lived?

More questions than answers, and I have opinions. So should you all.

Sleep sweet, love life, and live every day like it is your last...

The sun sets on another day...

I have rewritten this post 10 times now. There is so much to say, and I try to stay on point one day at a time. (Hard to believe)

Sometimes I wish I did not feel so much, care so much, or want so much for everyone else. Sometimes I wish the other side would sacrifice, and someone would fight for me. Sometimes they do, sometimes they do not. I hope we all feel a little of this sometimes, I would rather you not feel it as much as I do, but at least feel. I would rather we all feel the wondrous moments of the person who does fight for us, than the person who gives up. Feel the magical warmth of those who go out of their way to make the world right, and not those who undermine themselves and others with it. Feel the warmth of another persons love, and not their disingenuous attempt at love. Feel, just feel.

So yesterday as I felt this way I was driving alone down a street and on the side of the road in the pouring rain, I could barely see (Because of selfsame pouring rain) two kids on the side of the road. They were soaked to the bone and kept wiping the water from their faces as the deluge threatened to wash them away. (Well, not really, but it was really really heavy)

Being as I am massive, I felt I could do nothing, and then in front of me I saw a parking lot, stopped my truck, stepped out with my umbrella (A nice big one with shades of blue and white) and while 50 feet in front of them opened it up and set it on the ground. I yelled, "this is for you." and got in my car and left. Not asking for anything, nor looking for praise here, just trying to help two young girls soaked in the rain and cold. As I left, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw them run to the umbrella, pick it up and get underneath it. I will never see them again, nor will I ever get thanks or appreciation, except that they waved and smiled as I disappeared on the road.

Usually I ask everyone to live life and love life each day, and live it like there was no tomorrow, but along the way, watch for the people who need that umbrella, and open it up for them, leave it for them, and move on. Someday it may well come back to help you, or it might not, but it is the right thing to do...

Sleep sweet, love life, and live every day as if there was no other...
