The sun sets on another day….
Each day of our life is a series of decisions that create a series of decisions, that create a permutation of our decisions and the decisions of others to make a complete picture of a life. some are easy and happen without intervention, we add to the complexity as often we make decisions that directly influence the outcome, even though the outcome is not totally within our control. If you think about any one decision in a day it can give you a headache. If you consider how a large decision can positively or negatively affect your life, and consider all the permutations of such, you may be headed to Bellevue.
Each sunset we experience, whether we see it or whether it is above the clouds is a series of random points that include water vapor, pollution, angle of incidence and a host of other factors that create a different sunset each day. This makes each sunset as complex as a life, full of possibilities, and always unique.
By definition a labyrinth is “something extremely complex or tortuous in structure, arrangement, or character”, so by chasing sunsets are we part of an infinitely complex labyrinth in an infinitely complex labyrinth being who we are in this world?
I for one feel that if we think about the infinitely complex sunset we are viewing, we will loose the beauty of it, just as if we consider how complex our lives are, we lose the beauty of them and in the end, shouldn’t we just sit back, hold someones hand, and enjoy the moment, and if we chase the sunset to the end of time, be like Don Quixote, and “be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause”. If we are not willing to put our lives out there for our Dulcinea, can we truly say we have lived?
More questions than answers, and I have opinions. So should you all.
Sleep sweet, love life, and live every day like it is your last…
