The sun sets on another day…
I watched tonight as the sailboat glided through the sunset and remembered an episode of Star Trek I saw a long long time ago. In it a computer was replacing man, and Kirk was explaining the passion of being a sailor and a captain when he said:
“20th-century Earth. “All I… ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by.” You… you could feel the wind at your back in those days. The sounds of the sea beneath you. And… even if you take away the wind and the… water, it’s still the same. The ship is yours. You can feel her. And the stars are still there, “
Too often we let technology get in the way of our passion, our lives, and even the depths of our souls. Somewhere in the grand scope of life there are so many things that so many found to be important that they stepped aside and forgot the importance of passion and beauty, or did they?
As I took this picture tonight being passed by cars on a medium traveled street, and as the colors passed upon us I watched as cars slowed, and shared a moment with me, then, as the picture below happened a car pulled over and just watched, no cell phone, no selfie in the background, they just enjoyed. As I dropped the camera, and breathed in the last moments of today, they smiled, oblivious to me for a moment, then looked over and smiled at me, then drove on.
There is hope.
So as the sun sets on another day, consider every moment an adventure, and don’t give up on technology, but instead, balance it with you and occasionally, stop to see the sunset with me.
Sleep sweet, love life, and remember love is always at the core of who we are, no matter what…
