The sun sets on another day…
As I threw the Frisbee tonight and watched an amazing sunset I was amazed as always with the sheer beauty that surrounds us. I smiled as everything from the rolling dunes, the long winter grass, the pummeling waves, and the huge dog tongue that kept returning to me with the Frisbee made me appreciate the moments and the time I had to spend here. As the breeze blew and the cool air came off the lake, even though it was cold, it was warm and embracing as a new memory, a new sunset, and something to be appreciated.
I have said this before, watch what you take for granted. If you think about it, the entire premise of 29000 sunsets revolves around that simple thought. Never take anything for granted. There is so much to be thankful for, that sometimes we don’t see it until it is gone. So no matter how small you think something is, be aware it may not seem small if you look at it through different eyes.
When we talk to people, we listen to people, and should be thankful for what they have to say and hear. We see a sunset, and should realize it is the only 1 of its kind. We see a snowflake and know the same. There are a myriad of daily things we overlook. Sometimes we should overlook some of them as we would go start raving mad if we counted grains of sand and the like, but we should pick something each day and be thankful and not take it for granted. Maybe the secret will be to measure our gratitude and in the process perhaps find a way to be happier, each and every day, no matter what.
So as the sun sets on another day, look for random things that are important, and don’t take them for granted, instead enjoy them, be happy with them, take note of them, and perhaps become a happier person, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the sunset, it is amazing…Â
