The sun sets on another day…
Eddie Rabbit said it best, we are driving our lives away. As I drove hundreds of miles yesterday and today I mused about sunrises and sunsets, and the ability for us to pass back and forth between them. As I looked at the people all around I noticed many were driven, and many were just there, with no clear idea of where to go. (Which is funny in a car)
The sun really has it easy. It knows where it is, it sits in the middle of our solar system and rotates in our galaxy and universe and it just knows. (Well, maybe). We are not so lucky. Many people have a hard time with where they have been, and where they are going.
The people that have a hard time with where they have been often have seen many paths but sometimes don’t learn from them. They continue doing the same thing over and over, good or bad, and not really understanding they can improve, even on the good. We should all learn from our past, and not dwell on it.
There are lots of people who don’t know where they are going. They wander through life in a series of days after days, not understanding that having a goal, or at least an idea of where you are going helps drive you to be a better person. We should always look at the future as a gift and give it a goal of some sort.
Today is the biggest gift of all, remember as you are driving through this thing called life, to look out the window and see the world. The world is amazing, whether you believe it or not every moment can be the best moment ever, and everyone should be a part of not only that moment, but every moment they can.
So as the sun sets on another day, stop driving for a moment, smell the flowers, snap a picture, be at peace for a moment and realize you are part of something bigger. Then find a way to a new day, a fun today, and learn from everything you do, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, smile like crazy, and love often…
