The sun sets on another day…
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. A straight line can allow the navigation of one moment to another and ensure the moments connect perfectly. A straight line can also be between two people communicating as they effectively translate between each other, with no quarter asked or given. A straight line creating a straight line perhaps? A day can be the best day ever if we push towards that day and don’t wander all around it, instead making the day the best it can be.
Funny huh?
A straight line is also the line that comes right before the punchline in a joke and sets the joke up to be even funnier.
So what is a circle? It is a straight line with a hole in it!
Sorry, could not resist.
Anyway, so as we consider how linear we could be, and how linear we should be, there is something that is nagging all the time, why are we not linear? Why don’t we communicate directly, or find our way to happiness as quickly as possible? What makes us wait?
I would like to think we just need to stop questioning, and find our way to just do it. We can you know. We can become those people that say the things we mean, and mean the things we say, and in the process do the things we need to do! I would like to think the world would be a better place if we just said, “I miss you” or a dozen other phrases we put aside for far too long, then find ourselves wondering how to approach the day. I would suggest, well, ask, well, maybe suggest lightly, that we all try just once to say and do what we mean, and not put it on a circular spiral towards nowhere and instead press the straight line.
So, as the sun sets on another day, go with it. Look to the horizon, find your destination and get there. Find a way to be more, learn more, talk more and live more by being direct. If others aren’t direct, well, go past them and find the way to happiness, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, enjoy the line, and go beyond…
