The sun sets on another day…
The sunset gets earlier and earlier until you wonder if the darkness is all that will be left. Don’t worry, the sunset will be there, and the sunrise to follow, giving us beauty, light and life each day.
I was thinking a little about darkness last night, yes I know, strange. Then I thought about one of my favorite authors, Edgar Allan Poe. As I considered I wondered about his thoughts on the Raven and of course Lenore. As someone who writes I find it is far easier to write when emotionally charged, but to think that Poe was just emotionally charged is to think a freight train is a light weight item. Poe consistently works to bring out the despair and grief that his characters feel, and perhaps it was because of his own loss.
Depressing huh?
Well, don’t let it be.
We choose every day to allow that type of despair to overcome us, and we can focus and write, run, laugh, drive or find something else’s to do to overcome the lows and jump into the highs. Sure, it is rough, sure it is a pain, but we can all do it if we try, and if you can’t, find someone to help you. In the end, let’s make ever day good, and avoid the bad ones.
So as the sun sets on another day, have a bad day, nevermore. Let the world beat you, nevermore. Fall down and stay there, nevermore. Ha, let’s rise up, be happy and overcome each and every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the Raven…
