The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was amazing, and the moments before were watched with anticipation by many as the cool breeze splashed across the horizon. Me, I was watching with camera in hand, enjoying every moment.
Its nice to carry things forward. You know, when someone does something nice, to carry it forward or pass it on to the next person. It doesn’t have to be something big or grand, it just has to be something from the heart. That being said I saw a joke that made me laugh that was not exactly carrying forward, but it was fun nonetheless:
I was in a long McDonald’s drive-thru this morning and the young lady behind me honked her horn because I was taking too long to place my order.
“I thought to myself, ‘take the high road’. So when I paid for my food at the first window, I paid for both our orders.”
Sounds like a lovely gesture, right? Well, that’s not quite the end of the story.
“The lad at the counter must have told her what I’d done as she leaned out the window, waved and mouthed ‘thank you’, obviously embarrassed I had repaid her rudeness with kindness,” she added.
But rather than handing over the woman’s breakfast, the shopper decided to drive away with both as revenge.
She wrote: “When I got to the second window I showed both receipts and took her food too.
“Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again…”
Now, some people may think this cruel and worse. Some may think it is a horrible gesture, but I thought it was funny for a moment. Why? Because we sometimes carry forward lessons rather than just kindness, and this did not hurt anyone, but was a lesson in itself. I know I know, I may be horrible here, but sometimes we have to stand up for ourselves.
So as the sun sets on another day, be patient, be humble, be kind, and in the end carry forward positives, and don’t be mean like this funny little story, just have some fun each day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and drink good tea…
