The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was, well, almost as bright as a dim sky could be. You could tell it was trying, but knew the clouds were just too thick. Still, it was good knowing that high above the sun was setting with a colorful cascade of curious colors.
I have a rather lofty goal of reading this year, and writing as well. I am doing well on the reading, but not as well on the writing at the moment. I intend to change that. Writing and reading are a passion, and somewhere in between is mathematics, calculus, and a variety of other strange hobbies. I was cruising through a morning round of Goodreads and found an amazing person with a quote I already live by: “reading the types of books that I have read has made me aware of the world around me”.
Isn’t it true? Before I traveled the world I had already traveled the world by book. Before I flew I had flown over and over by book. I was able to see cultures and people in a different way, because of books. I laughed hard with books, cried with books, and found other worlds and considered far more than I could see, yes, with books.
I am proud of everyone who reads. I am very proud of those who branch out and read beyond their confines, seeing more. Doing as it should be, expanding themselves to understand more than any, and I do mean ANY, book can relay.
The world is a special place, and as we cross through life I can only hope we find the presence to see the world through another’s eyes. To me, and to many people I know, it is worth it.
So as the sun sets on another day, live life with passion and see beyond your personal thoughts. Books can open your mind, your heart, and your soul to more if you let them. I hope to see you between the pages, in another place, another time, and living a wonderful life, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and keep reading…
