The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was spectacular. I smiled as people lined up watch. The clouds broke free and a fantastic lightshow followed.
I was playing with new pens and thought about all the things in our life that are invisible, but still there.
Obviously, there are a lot. All the people that affect us in our past and the situations that have influenced us slowly meld us into who we are. Well, not really.
A lot of people like to think as they are writing their tome of a biography that they can blame their parents or their past for who they are. Perhaps some people believe this, but I firmly believe that we have a choice every day. We can let the people in our lives meld us like cheap clay, or we can stand up and decide who we will be.
I know this isn’t always easy. There are horrible people in the world that do everything they can to control others and far worse. The good news is some people will try to lift you up and help you be more. You have to decide. Do you stay home in a home that tears you to pieces? Do you stay with someone who treats you like less than a person? If you give all the time and they happily take, do you just go with it? Find people who see you as the amazing person that you are. Find people that believe in you. Decide to be more with them.
Of course, it’s your choice, and nothing I say will affect that. The biggest gift you have is to be able to make choices for yourself. Find your path and let the things that are invisible stay invisible while you shine a light.
So as the sun sets on another day, please remember how important you are. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. Don’t let anyone make you into what they want you to be; instead, be yourself every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and where’d they go…
