The sun sets on another day…
The mist covered the horizon as sunset fell high above. The eerie quality brought forth memories as I walked down the drive and watched the world go by.
You may think I am a little over the top, but December 7th always makes me pause. I find myself considering the past for a few minutes during the day, and thinking about veterans everywhere, and all that they have put out there.
It is not just a time to remember Pearl Harbor, but perhaps a time to consider good choices, bad choices, and how we can see past them. How often do we take the time to consider how we approach our decisions and how we can be engaged and vitalized by the depth of the effect we have on ourselves. How often should we consider the possibilities of making new decisions that improve our life.
We cannot in any way point to anyone but ourselves for the good or bad items we come across in life, nor can we step away from our reasonability to ourselves to lead a good life, and make those decisions that are hard, but help us be better. It is all up to us.
So as the sun sets on another day, I know it will be a good day each day because I make it that way. I find the way to sing Christmas Carols, read good books, laugh at the moon, and enjoy the sunset because the way is there, and my decisions take me there. Find your best way, and make every day the best day you can have, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and never forget…
