The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was a spectacular assortment of sky bound swirls. The clouds created a perfect backdrop for a magnificent mosaic, and I smiled for a moment at the onslaught to my senses. It was good.
I have been thinking a lot about innocence this week. We are all innocent at some point in our life, and in many places, we are considered innocent until proven guilty. (A fun play on words) The interesting thing I have been considering is how innocence dissolves over time, overcome by rationalization and enlightenment. We become victims of our own magnificent mind as we determine what can and cannot be done in the construct of innocence.
Perhaps that is when innocence is lost, when we think we understand what innocence is, is when we truly no longer understand the concept of innocence. By defining the term, we lose the ability to be innocent as we now are responsible for all we do. With that in mind, we may not be guilty, but we no longer truly innocent.
How I wish we could keep that innocence always. How I wish we could see the world as a pure misunderstood series of events and move ourselves forward with powerful positivity, unbound by all that is around us. I know, I know, weird thoughts. With all that in mind, here is a fun thought for the day:
A Childs Eyes
I wish the world could always see as I do now through a child’s eyes
The thoughts and dreams are a part of me, and all is truth, there are no lies
The fire of learning comes and goes, and a child finds solace in what they know
For no one would ever lie or deceive, as the child inside just wants to grow
As we find the world is not always true, we may look differently on me and you
As we find our power and feel our pain, the idea of us becomes more true
For a child will know and will always trust, and you can be sure of how they see us
The guides to the world, the path to more, a child looks to you because they trust
So make sure you hold their hands so true, and make sure they know that you are you
and when we all walk together once more, it is with a child’s eyes I hope that you grew
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope your day is better than best, and I hope you keep learning and keep growing always. Be the reed that bends and sees the world as it can be, not as how you want to believe, but with the open mind and heart that looks for the better and best in everything. I know it will not always be so, but at least we can try and, in the process, enjoy our days, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and what a ride…
