The sun sets on another day…
Cold, bleak winds scattered the rain across the countryside. The moist air bit into your body as you walked slowly down the street, step by step, inch by inch, you’re running for a sunset. Still, somewhere high above the sunset was amazing.
I really like Friday the 13ths simply because so many people think that they are strange. Today I was talking to someone in India who had no idea what Friday the 13th even meant, they also had never seen the movies. No surprise, people often don’t venture far out of their comfort zone when watching movies or being a part of a strange holiday. I laughed and told them a few movies that they may had seen from Bollywood that aligned with Friday the 13th. They were surprised I had seen something from their country and spent a moment looking up Friday the 13th and the ideas behind triskaidekaphobia.
It’s funny how sometimes we don’t pay attention beyond our own door, or city, or state, or country, or continent, and so forth. One thing we have in common, our sunsets. While I was overseas, I would often go watch the sunset at key places and as I did so I would share the moment with people I couldn’t possibly know. Still, we had the appreciation of the beauty before us in common and we all enjoyed the moment.
Take a moment and look beyond you, it is a big world. As you proclaim your city to be spectacular remember that everyone feels the same. Of course, a lot of them are wrong, but that’s OK maybe it’s just me. Find others to share common interests with even if the distances are extreme. In the end, find a way to be amazing every day.
So where’s the sun sets on another day, thanks for reading and being a part, thanks for being spectacular every day but mostly thanks for being you and being willing to look beyond you to see the world through different eyes. Keep making the world a fantastic place if you can and be the best you that you can be, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and happy Friday the 13th…
