The sun sets on another day…
Sunset sprayed light across the grey sky for only a moment and then was gone. The sky was filled with hope far above, and the world was more than just a cage, it was unlimited.
Next time you are out in public, stop for a moment. Look out at the world. As you do so take a few minutes and really watch people. Don’t just look at them, but instead see them. Now think about what you see, and in the process, consider how you are seeing the world. Now think about how they are seeing that same world. I know, it is a tough exercise. The world around us is variable positive and negative mess of emotions, actions, and strange goings on. Still, it can be better.
I was talking to a random person today about life and enjoying the moments. Initially they had looked dejected and distraught. It seemed they were lost ina holiday shopping funk meant to suck the life out of them. I may never know because as we talked the room brightened and they relayed a challenge and suddenly saw a solution. It was good to see them smile and as they walked away in the store there was more spring to their step.
Perhaps that is all it takes. Not trying to make a ridiculous impact on the world, but instead trying to make one persons day brighter, and going along for the ride. If we all just take a little time and try to lift someone up, maybe we will get the light and as a result we all will ride forward. Maybe it is just a few minutes that will lift us all up. I would like to think so.
So as the sun sets on another day, maybe we can’t see past ourselves, but maybe we can. Maybe we just need to take a few minutes each day and be nice. If it was good for Roadhouse, maybe it would be good for us all. I hope we can find a way to be positive together, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and be alive…
