The sun sets on another day…
I watched the sunset from a distance, but it was still good. The rolling hills blocked a lot of it, but it was still good. I guess the summary would be that it is good.
If you have read a few 29,000 sunsets you probably know that I have watched a lot of movies. I actually have watched more than some people who do it for a living. I have been fascinated by movies since I was young and while others slept, I often watched two to three movies a night. It ends up that I have a rather large movie collection.
A movie that I enjoyed a long, long time ago was called Challenge to Be Free. It is a wonderful movie about a man trying to live a good life alone. I enjoyed the animals and the chase in the movie but as I rewatched it (on VHS) I realized that many of the movies that I watched were about honor. This one was as well.
A man saves a wolf, and someone lies about it. This man is then chased by the law until they realize that the person who was lying was next to them all the time. Still, this became a massive manhunt and the trapper outran them all. In the end the true question of freedom is pushed out into the open and in doing so it gives us something to think about.
If we only have 29,000 sunsets, it is obvious that we can’t always do the right thing. There will be times that this slides from side to side. The question should be should we try to do honorable things always? I would like to think the answer is “yes”. I would like to think that if we say something that we are willing to live that same something.
A long time ago I stood at a fork in my life and decided to take a path that would be more difficult, but I still tried to do it with honor. When that path crumbled, I questioned if honor was always right. Now I actually found a way back to my beliefs rather quickly, but I ask you, do you put the honorable path where it should be for you? It may not be aligned with everyone else but is it what you believe? Consider that question and I hope you have a great answer.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you enjoy this day as the holiday rapidly approaches. I hope you realize how special you are. Mostly, I hope you find the path that works for you each and every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and keep living…
