The sun sets on another day…
Well… Sunset was interesting. The brisk night turned into a little more, and as night drifted across the sky, the night became dark as the depths of space.
I talk a lot about finding the good in things. It’s a pretty easy concept. No matter how bad you think it is, there may be something good in it. Before somebody talks about painting with a broad stroke or being too general I know that there are some exceptions but there aren’t as many as you think. You just have to take the time to look.
For most of us in our day-to-day there is no reason to feel bad. We can find the positive in almost anything if we just take a moment and look for it. In my mind it is a matter of setting yourself to be positive and look for those positives instead of embracing the negatives.
Today I was walking through a store that will remain unnamed and as usual I was greeting people with positives. All I was doing was either saying good afternoon or hello and not trying to be aggressive or dive into the depths of someone’s mind. As I was interacting with everyone I found myself noting that about 50% were happy to respond and responded with another positive and often either smiled or laughed as we engaged for a moment.
A small percentage of the remaining 50% scowled and were lost in frustration but the rest acknowledged in some other way and we’re not positive or negative but just kind of neutral. Maybe afterwards they saw some positive, or maybe not.
One woman as I walked past responded and ask how I was and I said something silly like “finer than frogs hair” and she started laughing and said she would remember that and I had made her day. It was a good interaction and if I made that one person have a little bit better day, things would just line up.
How about you? Ever sit back and wonder how the day is positive or negative? The answer is most certainly you. You are the reason and you are the one who will change the world each day either positively or negatively. How do you want to be remembered today?
So as the sun sets on another day, take a moment and enjoy all that you can. Find a way to find the positives and the good in whatever you perceive. And in the midst of it all, I hope you find yourself happy. Happy is a good place to be, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and that’s awesome…
