The sun sets on another day…
Sunset closed in on the world quickly and the sky changed colors rapidly as the clouds filled the twilight landscape. The scene was beautifully understated.
I started out writing a very different post today. It took an odd turn, then an odder turn, and then I pretty much scrapped it. I was trying to build a post about how it’s OK to have emotions but it just didn’t flow well and it definitely didn’t come across as my mind intended.
Instead I decided to take a picture from yesterday and give you a Kingfisher. I get a kick out of these little birds because they look like they’ve got a good hairdo going on and are so fast it’s nearly ridiculous. As I watched and took this picture the Kingfisher disappeared for a second and through my other eye I saw that it had gone to the water caught a fish and came back in the blink of an eye. It was a lot of fun.
As we tried to get closer to it, it was not phased and instead watched us closely and then disappeared in the blink of an eye only to reappear a few dozen feet elsewhere. I laughed about it and enjoyed every moment.
Maybe that’s not a bad idea. Sometimes it’s maybe OK to keep our distance. Sometimes it may be OK to disappear for a moment until we feel safe. Although I think we should be powerful and engage as often as we can it’s not a bad thing to occasionally be transparent and just disappear. And it would be kind of cool if I was as fast as a Kingfisher.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you’re enjoying your day, or now your night. I hope you find what you are looking for out of each day. Mostly I hope you find happiness and enjoy life like a Kingfisher, with a little bit of class. Have lots of fun, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the moment…
