The sun sets on another day…
Sunset shimmered over a cell tower and the thought made me laugh. Which reaches more people, cell towers or sunsets? I think sunset wins.
I was enjoying time with people and as I did so, paying attention to everything going on. At the center of a group were two young adults who were playing piano for the group. I enjoyed the music and it reminded me of times many years ago where my family did similar and we sang and played songs together and enjoyed the moments.
I was particularly impressed with the young people because they were very focused and not focused on what is typical today. They showed great restraint and impeccable manners and as they played piano it was obvious that their concentration was well focused on what they were doing. Of course there were mistakes, but they were unnoticeable by many. Of course there were wrong notes, but there were far many more correct notes. It was these two that made the day fantastic.
We all have an opportunity to guide others. Children will pick up anything that we do and we have to remember that when we see negative traits they are likely a reflection of what they are seeing. It’s not always true but it is often true. Be a good example and create a plan that works for everyone you come in contact with even if it’s only a 10 second plan when you meet them. And for parents, good luck to you all. The future of the world is in your hands.
So as the sun sets on another day, I’m impressed. I’m proud of parents they find the way to show their children a positive new world. I’m proud of parents who teach their children how to be respectful, patient, humble, and kind. I am proud of parents who establish the ways that things will be and draw lines in the sand that will never be crossed. I’m proud of parents that remove the negative forces around them and find a way to make the world a better place. Mostly I’m just proud of parents, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and enjoy the evening…
