The sun sets on another day…
Sunset laughed at the sky and made everything above into a picture of imperfect perfection. The colors were laid out in harmony and you could almost hear the music of the night approach.
I have a lot of pictures. Since digital came on to the scene I have a mast over 200,000. The high number is often because if I see something that looks wonderful I take quite a few pictures of it in order to make sure I get the capture that I want.
I find myself displaying many pictures that are very different. Of course I have sunsets and pictures of important people in my life but there are many that I have been challenged on and asked why I picked a particular picture when it was not absolutely perfect. The answer is easy, it is how I feel.
Whether you like it or not a picture can open up your mind and in doing so you may find an emotion tied to something from long ago. They’re in front of you might be a picture of something minimal that means something spectacular. For me I have a picture of my daughter laughing and can still remember when I was in front of her saying silly things to get her to giggle. The picture has been on my desk for over 30 years and because of the Sun is now faded and almost gone but I keep it to remind me of that moment.
Recently I spent some time redoing the trinket shelves around me and as I did so I rearranged picture after picture that I had deemed important only to find my mind swirling in intense emotions and magnificent memories. Why not, it’s a great way to remember how fantastic life can be.
How about you? Is there a picture on your wall that lights up your life? Is there a feeling that you get when you glance over those special moments in the past? Can you find your way easily to all of the powerful emotions that make you who you are?
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope your day is wonderful. Mine was as I met new people and sold some books along the way. I hope you got a picture that you’ll remember. Mostly I hope you had a fantastic day and enjoyed the sunset, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and it’s a Kodak moment…
