The sun sets on another day…
Rain sprayed across the horizon and the world was vibrant and alive. Just a short time before sunset the clouds parted for just a moment and shards of light cascaded down upon the woods. It was beautiful and stunning and in the end will be a magnificent memory.
My Poem for today:
Guidance
I’m looking at my grandson and he’s staring back at me
I see the world through my eyes, that have moved on wild and free
I try to show compassion, in a world that’s full of pain
I try to show him good times, that I know he’ll see again
He laughs when I am smiling, and smiles even when I don’t
I’ll be there to protect him, even when he thinks I won’t
I know the world is special, and he’s a special son
I’m not sure that he knows it, but already he has won
The twinkle in his eye, the glimmer in his smile
I’m looking at my grandson, not for a little while
and when the day is over, and night will finally come
his heart will still be open, and I know where he is from
Some say it’s just nature, others nurture through
it’s somewhere in the middle for those that have a clue
there is power in our learning, and power meant to be
and I know he’ll have power one day, for he’s from our family
So as the sun sets on another day, I would like to think that the song was right and the children are our future. It is up to us to provide guidance even though we have already provided the foundations of who we are. I hope you find that children are worth it every day and realize that the world is a special place and will continue to be so only as the children move forward. Keep being a positive model, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and carry on…
