The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was covered in clouds as another storm rolled in. As the summer comes storms will be less and less and the days will be beautiful just about every day. Still, I enjoyed the sunset, simply because it was amazing. The sprays of color dotted the sky single clouds opened up and closed second after second until night was upon us.
There is always a debate on places and how we should experience new places in our life. On a whim today we stopped at a restaurant that had failed several times. It didn’t fail because of quality, but instead faced challenges from employees and customers previously.
The first failure happened when customers just stopped showing up. It was a difficult time right before COVID and business just slowed. The second failure happened in between the COVID times, when employees demanded that a business that was a bar and grill change to a breakfast menu so they didn’t have to work nights. The business complied and slowly faded away.
I was excited to walk into this place tonight hoping that there would be something better and hope for that this new better place would survive. I was not disappointed.
I found as we walked in that it was a soft opening and that they were testing much of their business. The employees were terrific, and from moment to moment I was amazed at all the people and the interactions between them. A short time later the food arrived and it was some of the best things I had had in quite a while.
The mozzarella sticks were unique. Taking a bite was a slice of heaven, and the marinara was well done and not overpowering that you could dip them in to make them even more tasty. I found myself wondering why I didn’t order just mozzarella sticks but knew that the cheese would have attacked me and I would have been pummeled. I did order a hamburger and it was far more tasty than most. I was impressed with how they put it together and even more impressed with the unique flavor that seemed to bring out a lot more than I am used to.
What was even better, it wasn’t very expensive and I walked out feeling good about both the meal and the cost. If you are in the Muskegon area try Louie’s on Whitehall road. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you find this day to be fantastic and I hope that somewhere in between it all that you realize that part of the reason today is fantastic is because you are in it. Keep being you every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and yummy…
