The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was clear, bright, and full of questions. Funny how those things enter your mind at the end of the day.
It seems like we’re being pushed in life to make a choice. If you don’t like column A you must choose column B and vice versa. It doesn’t make much sense if you really think about it. There are a myriad of choices that we can make every moment that align with neither column.
A few elections ago I was discussing things with a close friend of mine and they made the argument that if I didn’t vote for who they wanted me to vote for I was actually voting for who they didn’t want me to vote for. I laughed and the conversation eventually ended. What didn’t end was my thought process behind it. At what point in our lives do we stop only choosing what’s laid before us? At what point in our lives do we realize that there is always another option?
No, I’m not saying that suddenly elections are going to be won by third parties, but I am saying that if you compromise your values for a situation that the only person that it hurts is you. If you choose the lesser of two evils or the lesser of five evils you are still choosing evil. I am not saying always choose the road less traveled either, just choose the one that fits you. It is out there, and it is there that you will make a difference to the most important person in your life, yourself.
So as the sun sets on another day, ick, I am not sure I want to post this. Still, perhaps we need a strange post from time to time. Just know I believe in you and your choices, and I hope you will find a way to enjoy every day, and the decisions you make, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and how ’bout a little from column C…
