The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was pretty darn spectacular, and what came after was another storm. I was solidly impressed with the amount of color that was planned and executed by no one in particular. The skies were amazing and the moments even more so.
You know it’s not a bad thing making a mistake. People who avoid mistakes all the time avoid successes just as effectively. Often, avoiding a mistake is the surest way to have a failure. Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t be careful, nor am i saying you shouldn’t be thorough, but I am saying that sometimes you have to move forward and occasionally even take a chance instead of slowing yourself to a crawl, or avoiding risk.
I was recently having a discussion with someone who noted that it must be nice to not make mistakes. I am here to tell you I have made many mistakes. There were days that I thought the world was against me. Somewhere in it all I realized that I was actually the problem. I had to learn from my mistakes and turn them into my successes and I consistently did this by paying attention to others and to what is true and right. Of course, there are some people that will discount the idea of truth, but we have to know what’s true for us, we have to have the ability to define our truth and continually define ourselves.
As we walked through life you are going to find situations that don’t have a clear answer. Those situations can be difficult and sometimes devastating. Just remember that even a failure is a step towards success. Even an oopsie daisy, may open a doorway to something much better.
So as the sun sets on another day, reach out, take a chance, make the jump, and find a way. Sometimes mistakes may pop up, but they will guide you new and wonderful ways, and maybe help you discover penicillin. Stranger things have happened. Be a force to keep moving forward, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and semper dienceps…
