The sun sets on another day
The sky was so blue that you could nearly see forever. The setting sun was lost in the slowly darkening twilight, and as the moments waned of daylight I could only be thankful for the day.
We get things done because we are driven in one way or another. Driven is a unique word as it infers that we have found a way to push forward or make something more effective. Maybe it even infers that we have known our way and are taking ourselves there. To me, however, I think that we are driven out of passion and a desire to achieve more as we enjoy life.
I was at the Lakeshore Art Festival again today and talking to so many people that were absolutely fantastic. This is going to sound like one of those weird stories, but on my way to the restroom I ran into a young woman standing outside. We started talking about writing and the Art Fair and in the process she started talking about her job and the work she did to help the community. The conversation was riveting but it was the sparkle in her eyes when she was talking about what she enjoyed that was spectacular. Her friend walked up and confirmed the excitement that she had and it was a series of fascinating interactions that followed. In the process we decided that maybe I could interact with the group she worked with, and that too would be a world of fun.
No matter who you are or what you think, people are amazing. I love interacting with people because it always helps me learn something new. From all of the people walking their animals in the fair, to the woman who came up to me and cursed all of those people for walking their dogs in the heat. From the families who came up just to talk, to the people who avoided talking completely. From those who loved writing and reading, to those people who told me they wish they could read more. All of them helped me understand the world just a little bit more. They always do.
If you look at time, we don’t have much. One of the people who stopped and talked was very eloquent in describing that their time was waning but they were only getting better. Their smile was intoxicating as we laughed about the intricacies of life and all of the laughter she has shared.
I could ask for no better day, but I’ll keep trying.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you had a fantastic day filled with powerful passions. I hope you realize how precious life is and how you are like all of the sunsets, unique and wonderful. Mostly I hope you realize that every day can be better if you want it to be. Find your best day and keep going forward, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and who makes up this stuff… oh I do…
