The sun sets on another day…
The clouds rolled in but not so much that there wasn’t color. I enjoyed sunset and even though I could not see the sun I could see the colors around it and it was good.
I know I’ve talked about it many times in 29,000 sunsets but wouldn’t it be great if we all could listen and hear each other effectively. There are lots of people that focus on listening to respond and I have written almost a treatise on such. Listening to respond ruins the way that we interact. Instead, we have an opportunity to listen to hear and to truly pay attention to the people around us. It is amazing, it is exciting, it can be more.
When we actually hear people, we can begin to understand their points of view. When we actually hear people, we can begin to see past the mundane and see into the exciting ways that other people think. When we actually hear people, we may be able to understand a little more on how they interact and how they may handle the ups and downs that life hands them we just have to learn to be quiet for a moment and listen.
I know I’ve been guilty before and I catch myself when I start coming up with things I want to say in response to someone. I have quickly pushed that out of my head let me continue to try to understand. When a person is done relaying all of their thoughts I often pause for a moment and make sure, then I clarify with them what I heard and only then can I interject my opinion on one thing or another.
I think if we all just took that time and try to understand a little more, we would be in a much better place. I think if we all took that time and just paused for a moment the world might end up hearing.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you were able to listen to the people around you and I hope that you hear what they’re really having to say. Sometimes it’s just words relaying an idea, sometimes it’s a lot more. Pay attention and perhaps you’ll be closer to it all, and in the end, I hope that you are able to sync up with the people around you in one way or another, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and i hear you…
