The sun sets on another day…
Sun set shifted the sky, and in doing so lit up the world in a new and exciting way. I smiled as I watched the heavens open and clear the world of sound for just an instant.
Sometimes we just need to clear our minds. Imagine living in the 1980s where the Quarter Pounder with Cheese was a meal in itself. Imagine the competitors scrambling to come up with a solution and finally one fantastic company created the third pound burger that tasted better and was more economical. Imagine that burger failing because people thought 1/3 was smaller than 1/4. Yes, it happened.
If you watch a lot of movies, you know what assumption is, it can really tax you if you just don’t pay enough attention. If somebody would have thought for just a moment to think about fractions, they would have gone for the third pound burger because it was more, but all too easily we take the easy path and don’t think thinking.
I know this is a little off, but I read the story about this again today and was reminded that sometimes we don’t pay attention to what’s in front of us. Quite honestly, that can hurt. Now imagine that our lives are finite, and we are trying so hard to look at the past or look at the future that we miss what’s right in front of us. How could we walk by a present? I don’t know either.
All I’m saying with this rather odd hamburger analogy is that maybe we should open our eyes to possibilities more often. Maybe we should do a little research, maybe think about things, maybe figure out what lies before us, but living in what we are in now. It’s really easy to give in to anger, frustration, despair, and a lot more. It’s a lot more fun to embrace happiness, and love, and all the things that make us feel good about ourselves.
At least that’s what I think. How about you?
So as the sun sets on another day, on let’s have a good day today. Part of my day was difficult but part of my day was very good, and I defaulted it all to very good. Take a moment and define yourself, and make the world a better place. Find a good hamburger too, it’ll taste good. Enjoy your eve, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and eat well…
