The sun sets on another day…
The sky was showing off tonight. The sun was shaded back and forth, it looked like it was gradient and the beauty was beyond compare.
It was a long time ago; I was on a plane more than I was not. The world was a different place. I had visited the restaurant on the top of the World Trade Center, Windows Over the World. The food was good, the view was even better. I watched the sky this darkness fell with only a film camera to try to take the pictures to do it justice. Only a few months later it happened, the World Trade Center fell.
I was assailed by phone calls that day, some people wanted to know that I was safe. Some people just wanted to talk. Some people didn’t know what to say. It was an intense day and a series of intense weeks. In the middle of it all, I was happy that I wasn’t eating on that day on the top of one of the tallest buildings in the world.
I thought about this again today. Every year I think about it. I am thankful for the friends that didn’t make it to their morning meetings in the tower, and for all the people who stood up and united, indivisible, and made a difference for just a while.
So as the sun sets on another day, thanks for reading, and thanks for being you. I hope you have a spectacular evening and remember that it’s a good thing to have one more sunset. Hold on tight, and believe in yourself, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and thank you…
