The sun sets on another day…
I watched sunset and enjoyed the light show as I saw others not paying attention and missing out on the moment. I laughed as the sky played out its hand and showed the world how wonderful a moment can be.
If you don’t know by now, I get a kick out of words. Every word has a particular meaning until you twist it or spin it or use exciting things like sarcasm.
Years ago I was enjoying myself and the day just started getting bad. It pretty much seems like everything that could go wrong didn’t go wrong in a single day and I found myself a little overwhelmed. It’s kind of hard to get me overwhelmed because I have been whelmed so many times.
Anyway, in the middle of all of this and knowing what was going on someone walked up to me and asked how I was doing. My reply was “splendid”. This display of sarcasm comes to my mind from time to time when the idiocracy just seems to be overwhelming. After all, sometimes you just need to say that life is what it is without walking down a negative path.
That little bit of sarcasm made me giggle that day. After I giggled, I laughed. After I left the day started getting better. I know the world sometimes doesn’t want to take into account that a smile can cure a bad moment or say more to someone than a negative comment, but it works. Sometimes a little sarcasm can go a long way to removing the reason for the sarcasm.
I remember this day well and the reasons I was frustrated aren’t really important, in the end it was my overcoming the frustrating day that became a good memory and gave me away to not be so worried about the world. Someone said it nice in a book to not sweat the petty things, and this day long ago I realized they were right.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you had a fantastic day today. I hope every moment gave you a little more positivity. If it didn’t, I hope you came up with something to drag you out of the muck and guck and in the process Made your day a little bit better. Find a way to overcome and enjoy your moments, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and be splendid…
