The sun sets on another day…
The sun was setting, and I was driving. It was a beautiful night, and the clouds were rolling in for an evening storm. I was lost in the colors and a beautiful rainbow a sunset fell upon us.
Tonight my truck had an issue. My truck is doing pretty good usually but tonight it decided that it didn’t want to run as well as it should. I was a little perturbed but not angry or mad. I made it home just fine and the problem went away by morning. Who makes up this stuff anyway?
Do you ever get mad at inanimate objects? When you accidentally trip over something do you scream at it? Do you ever get upset when you know that you shouldn’t?
I think that most people do. There is an innate desire for people to just get angry and often there’s no reason for it. Even if my truck had failed completely, I have certainly gotten my use out of it. In the end it is nothing personal.
Take a moment and remember that objects don’t do things on purpose, and all anger does is slow down solutions. Take a moment and remember that the rock on the side of the hill he’s going to be there long after we’re gone and maybe we should just enjoy it while we’re here. Sounds like a good idea at least.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope your day is fantastic and I hope that nothing tries to derail that. Mostly I hope that you have a fantastic day every day, and enjoy your moments with or without things getting in the way. I think you can find a way, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and keep on driving…
