The sun sets on another day…
I watched sunset fade quickly into the night and wondered about all of the fantastic moments that happen between sunsets. Day or night, we live for the sunset.
I watched a cool movie tonight and giggled a little, laughed a little, cried a little, and just enjoyed the moment. It’s always heartfelt when someone can see the world through new eyes, and even more heartfelt when a cynic becomes a believer.
Being someone who seems to be immersed in mythology, I wondered how well myths and legends could immerse themselves in the modern world. It turns out they do pretty well. As I watched the new movie Red One I saw many different mythological figures combine themselves into a single story that I feel will hold up pretty well over time. Not because the acting was amazing, it wasn’t, not because it had the over-the-top stars in it, it did, but instead because somewhere in the middle the story focused on how people can enjoy innocence.
In this world of strange and unusual moments, I think a movie like this can show us that sometimes the bad guy isn’t all bad, the good guy isn’t all good, and if you work together the world can be a better place.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you take a moment and realize how special you are, and somewhere inside find the innocence that will make your life just a little better. After all, you are a spectacular individual, and the world is a better place because of you, no matter what.
