The sun sets on another day…
There was a fire in the fireplace, the sky was bright and white, as snow fell across the horizon. There was beauty everywhere, and the fire took away the cold. High above, the sunset showed its beauty to all who could see.
There is a kid song about the wheels of the bus going round and round. For me, I think it’s more the wheels or gears of a clock going round and round. Time is clicking by moment by moment, and it will continue to go round and round indefinitely, and far beyond the length of my writing.
There is a certain beauty in time, and a certain inevitability. Time is there, and even if quantum physicists decide that time is just a construct, it continues, and we are prisoners in its grasp.
If we only have 29,000 sunsets and we don’t embrace everyone, we are not respecting that time that is both infant and finite. Perhaps the best thing to do is enjoy every moment, as if it is our last, and make the best life we can have.
So as the sun sets on another day, the wheels of the clock turned round and round, and as they do, I find myself lost in their beauty. Even if I cannot see them, I know each strike of the gong is a moment worth sharing. Thank you for sharing it with me and I hope I see you again, no matter what.
Sleep, sweet, love life, and all is well …
