The sun sets on another day…
I was working on a poem last night and it ended up as a fairly depressing piece. The poem was focused on a single word and all of the items around it were in support of that single word. Unfortunately, I found that inside I apparently have some unresolved anger and deep frustration as each word seemed to feed on the next and create a sense of almost desperate desperation. I laughed about it, but i also thought about the single word and about all the words we use in between and how we approach the world.
I have written numerous times that a few careless words can really make a mess out of the world. As I continue to move forward, I find often that one or two words can make a difference. One or two words can make everything very positive or very negative. It is with this in mind that I became misunderstood years ago as I try to find something nice to say to just about everyone, and as I do I often find people taking an uninformed view of what I am doing.
The idea of sitting in a corner and shutting up is not in my vocabulary, so I often find myself in interesting conversations or in interesting times. Somewhere under it all, it’s obvious that sometimes things get to me. Sounds like fun, right?
At any rate I hope that you know that your words are special and important, and i hope that you know that each word you speak has an effect on the people around you. Take the time to realize words have meanings and remember that once you say something it’s difficult to take it back. In the end it’s up to you to be responsible for yourself.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you take the moments to lift other people up. I hope the words that embattle you bounce off and do not invade your mind with negativity. Mostly I hope you realize that you are special, each and every day, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and what’s your word…
