The sun sets on another day…
What a wonderful sunset. The skies shifted slightly as though settling in for a new season. The colors were spectacular and I smiled at the twilight and the clouds that heralded a new night with puffy powder clouds.
I know I’ve said it many times, but we need to choose how we’re going to do everything in our life. Are you sick of hearing it yet? Are you sick of the idea that you have a choice? Are you ready to realize that everything about your life is up to you.
When I look at my life sometimes, that sucks. Mainly because I’ve made some bad decisions and I’ve made some good ones. Occasionally I’ve even made great decisions and that’s pretty good as well. In the midst of it all I realize that each day I have a choice in how I want to approach the world, and as I do so I can only be responsible for me.
I had a discussion with one of my children recently so the situation in our lives. They were looking for advice and I understood exactly the direction they were going. I told them simply how I felt and how I would react, but I made sure they understood that in the end it was their choice.
We have the choice to fly high or fly low, we have the choice to make a difference, we have the choice to be the best person we can be or to be the worst person we can be. I hate to quote Airplane, but the decision to proceed is yours.
So as the sun sets on another day, let’s make the world a wonderful place. Find ways to make good decisions. In the end, make the best life that you can, no matter what.
