The sun sets on another day…
Take your time. Have a seat, watch the sun set. Don’t look straight at it, just take it all in and see the colors crossed the horizon. Today that beauty was amazing, today I actually stopped the car and watched. The beauty was everywhere and I felt a moment of peace.
Someone told me a long time ago that they didn’t want passion or love or intensity or happiness or all of the things that rush to my mind always. Instead, all they wanted out of life was peace. To be fair, the idea of peace rarely crossed my mind before that. My life has been anything but peaceful. As I considered the idea of peace I remembered laying in a field and watching the clouds pass overhead a long long time ago. While I watched the clouds my body felt light and I was at ease and as I drifted off to sleep I saw myself below and flew to play with the clouds. Every fiber of my being was not in conflict for once, and when I awoke I felt as though I was on top of the world.
Of course I was only 9 at the time, and I ran back to the house in the country in Michigan and visited the slice of heaven and the only place I had ever called home for so long.
Peace.
It really is there if you need it, it really is there if you wanted, you just have to find your center and go there.
Take a deep breath, make a wish, dream a dream, and let loose all of the silliness that floats around in your head and instead get lost in the sunset, watch the waves in the ocean or in the Great Lakes, become a part of the wind blowing at the leaves, playfully look at the clouds, and hopefully you will find it. There are so many ways to find peace. Find your way into it and far beyond.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you find your peace. It’s only a breath away. It’s waiting for you. Peace can be yours if you just let go of all the silly stuff, and peace is mine as I consider each day and find my way to the edge of peace, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and find peaceā¦
