The sun sets on another day…
I’m sitting here staring at the snow again. No, it’s not gonna last long. It may not even be here for a few more hours. It’s here now though and as I stare, I wonder about all of the fun that I’m having or will have with the not quite eternal snow. As the sun set the colors are there and then gone.
It’s funny how ice forms. This morning, I went out and got into the truck that was covered with ice all over the window on one hand it meant digging out a scraper. On the other hand the patterns all over my window were intricate and amazing. As I stared, and before I scraped it off, I marveled at the crystalline lattices that were woven together by some little miracle of moisture sticking to the glass. It was quite impressive.
Then of course I scraped it off and as I drove away watched the edges melt off in the heat of my defroster.
I simply wondered how many people paid attention to what was before them. I wondered very heavily how these people who saw the ice related to it and how those who just scraped it off and left missed something special.
Of course that’s all probably silly. Who cares about a little bit of ice, right? Then again trauma maybe we all just need to pay a little more attention to the wonders that are around us and stop paying attention to the stuff that’s thrown at us that has no meaning. It might be a good idea, it might not.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you take a minute and enjoy the simple things in life. Hopefully I’m on that list of simple things. In the end I just hope you enjoy your days and as the sun set on another day hope you see the beauty all around you, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and brr it’s cold…
