The sun sets on another day…
Another clear blue sky gave way to an interesting sunset, filled with shards of light and beauty across the horizon. It was fascinating to watch color upon color shift and change and then fade.
I find myself thinking about standards a lot right now. The world sets standards for itself often, but is there truly a standard for a sunset? Is there a standard for beauty?
We are told from an early age that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but what do we truly hold onto when we’re looking at the beauty around us? What is that standard? That makes us feel good about life or feel good about another person?
What makes those standards change? What sets the standard for high quality or low quality? Why are there even standards if everything is individualized?
My biggest question though is what is the standard for a good life? Is it that person who made more money than the next or the person that had more laughter? Is it the amazement that a person can put in a child’s eyes? Is it finding peace? Is it finding joy? Is it giving joy?
I feel like I’m writing the book of questions again, but these are important ones and I would like to know if people understand joy, or if they give Joy freely. It’s often a difficult statement, and perhaps even more difficult concept, but perhaps joy, is that the crux of everything that we need.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you find joy in your days. I hope you realize how important you are in life. I hope you know that you are special. I hope you treat yourself in a way that you can be more special, and in the end, I hope that life is yours, no matter what.
