The sun sets on another day…
It was a beautiful sunset and I watched the sky through frilly ferns and full fir trees, and as the colors became more real, I smiled and enjoyed the moment.
Several years ago I bought a house in the city. As I cleaned up the house from all the messes it had had in the past I started finding bottles buried everywhere. They were all buried neck down rotating around the house almost like a barrier of pure glass to keep something out.
Over the years I have looked it up many times hoping to find an answer that made sense. The closest I can find was a wives tale about the bottles catching the evil spirits of Black Cats or the bottles being put to attract pests and kill them either one seems kind of different, but in the end, who knows. If it was a defense, it worked.
I know this is a weird lead in, but no one else needs to understand your defenses but you. If you have something but works to keep you safe, that’s what you need. Not all the rest of the stuff in the world, but just that. If you can take a minute and make sure your defenses are good, maybe 100 years from now someone will be trying to figure out what you did but it worked just fine for you.
Stay safe in this strange world. The only person you need is you. Keep being you and make your world the most amazing it can be. I hope this sounds good because it sounds good to me.
So as the sun sets on another day, no that was not poetry. Instead it was a plea to stop letting the world rip you in half. Find the things of the world that work, and in the process keep growing and becoming the person you need to be, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and be glass…
