The sun sets on another day…
It was a weird sunset and the sky was open and beautiful, then a storm rolled in and blasted the area with craziness. The rain was so hard it could be heard everywhere, then it was gone. Only the clouds remained.
I got a haircut today. I will pause here while you marvel about haircuts for a second. I had to wait a while because today was the night before school starting where I am right now. Parents were rolling in kids and rolling them out with fresh new haircuts and I just needed one because my head looked like a mop.
I’ve talked to many times about how there are people that make your day better. Hair stylists, barbers, and other people that cut hair have the unique opportunity to delve into your mind as well as chop off part of your body as they cut through hair and through the BS that surrounds so many people. I often wonder the secrets that have been told while sitting in a chair having a haircut or a shampoo. The discussion and the people are always more relaxed, well, almost always.
Today, while at an undisclosed location with an undisclosed person I found myself fascinated by another person who had a sparkle in their eye and the press for passion. We talked about a little bit of everything and I was fascinated by her fantastic relationship with her boyfriend. He fed all of staff for lunch (Yummy Chicken Strips) when a rather short-sighted manager left them to starve with no breaks. My stylist also had many passions that she enjoyed while having fun. Even more she had another job, and in that other job she and her boyfriend enjoyed life and their positions. This individual had a lot of unique and interesting ideas.
I left the location feeling positive and knowing that this person would likely go exactly where they wanted to. Neither close nor far trauma they would find a way to succeed at what they wanted out of life and not out of anyone else’s expectations except their own. It was a good value to get the haircut and an even better value to have someone positive. It was reaffirmed that realized that somewhere out there a relationship revolved around care and ensuring that the other person was well taken care of. I like that.
So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you find somebody that to take care of your hair that makes you laugh. I hope you learned something about life when you sit down and listen to all the things that happen to other people sitting in the chair. Mostly, I hope that this young one finds a way to build her dreams and make them into realities. I hope you do as well, no matter what.
