The sun sets on another day…
As the sunset dipped, people swam. The air was cooler, but people swam, and the sky was watched by all as summer pulled us in and held us for at least one more day.
Today we visited a small town with a big reputation. We walked through shops and looked at price tags that were pretty much more than exorbitant next to Marina that had boats in it that I could retire on the cost of the boat. Well maybe, I don’t need much.
The shopkeepers and servers were fantastic and I laughed with many of them as I watched patrons wearing $1000 shoes be less than nice or look through people as if they didn’t exist. Of course there were still a series of nice people there, but it was definitely an upscale crowd and although we bought a few things and it was an enjoyable time, it was very evident that this crowd was a different type of crowd.
So there I was watching boats launch heading back to multimillion dollar houses on shorelines overlooking the lake and suddenly a woman dressed to perfection reached back and picked out a wedgie.
Now I know this probably doesn’t thrill anybody but I suddenly realized that after all that was said and done, the great equalizer was picking out a wedgie and hoping no one was watching. Of course, as the beautiful white boat backed out, she thought she had gotten away with it but we had seen and laughter ensued. Perhaps this was not the only great equalizer, But as George Carlin often said we do have to deal with it when we have a letter in our mailbox.
Surprisingly, I still can’t stop laughing. At the same time we are all equal when it comes to wedgies, we just need to get it out of there. For me, be nice to people who are waiting on you or trying to help you. Let them know they are important to you and never think that you’re better than the person that they are.
