Why miss another?

Tiger…

The sun sets on another day…

As the sun set it was so orange I thought that the orange and black could easily be mistaken for a tiger in the sky and of course that reminded me of the book Tiger in the Stars. Funny how you’re brain works through things like that. Anyway, the sunset was beautiful.

I find myself enjoying the day. I also find myself enjoying the darkness of the night. They’re in the day today I had a short break and I took a chainsaw split several trees. They are Jack Pines and you can’t really burn them in a fireplace because they have significant sap and we’ll mess up your flu.

So I had a stack and I decided, as usual, that it was time for the burn barrel.

If you don’t have a burn barrel, it is a standard galvanized steel barrel that has holes in it allowing for air flow and a hinged top so you can close it up and burn things inside of it without worry of Sparks escaping or strange Leaf fires taking over the area. I use the burn barrel a lot in the winter to clear the trees that have fallen during Autumn storms. This was one of those trees.

If you haven’t been to Michigan before, a jack pine is a crazy little tree that grows very fast and very tall and very thin. Because it’s so thin and doesn’t necessarily throw down deep roots, it often causes issues and those issues can be a bit of trouble. A few years ago a jack pine fell directly across my driveway, fortunately I have several chainsaws and was able to clear it but unfortunately this happens a lot.

This year I’m getting ahead. I’m removing those trees that have a possibility of falling and those that have already fallen and as each one is removed things look better and better. The sideways and psygoglyn trees are slowly fading and I throw them in the burn barrel.

Tonight I let it and the flames jumped high and continued to jump around as I fed the monster known as fire and heat it up a small area around the burn barrel. It’s more than a little fun and maybe a little more than that. In the end, I enjoyed it all and in the end it was a good time.

Just one more tree and another area is clear just one more and things will look a little better.

We should all push that extra little bit and in the process try heartily to make sure that we are achieving our goals. We can do it, we can achieve our goals, we can make it work.

So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you had as much success as I did. I hope you weren’t out until 1:00 in the morning burning logs in the burn barrel and watching the coals turn to Ash. I guess that’s something that I just like to do. Keep finding a way to be awesome, everyday, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and keep making a difference…
