Why miss another?

January 8, 2026January 12, 2026

Hurry up…

The sun sets on another day…

It was a weird sunset that I could see but a beautiful sunset high above. Below rain and storm but somewhere above as I closed my eyes I imagined beautiful colors and a peaceful night.

We always seem to need to go so fast to get so far the places that are not necessarily defined. I find myself often arguing with the moments on whether I should be going faster or enjoying life and taking the slow road.

I have to admit that when I was younger everything was about getting from A to B as quickly as I could. In college I had to move through A to B fast, with relationships I was always on the move and always trying to be faster. With children I found myself adapting to what they needed as quickly as I could, and at work I needed to exceed deadlines everywhere I could, and at least push fast if I couldn’t. I missed a lot of the world going to places that did not always need a rapid return.

There was a time that I traveled worldwide constantly. I have seen things that many people always want to see, but I have not taken the time sometimes to see all of the things that I could have seen. A particular memory I had to go to Germany to give a presentation. I landed, checked into a hotel, went to the presentation, succeeded, got back to the room late, worked, and left the next morning without seeing anything besides a boardroom and a bed.

As I have grown older I realize that sometimes you have to take your foot off the accelerator and pay attention to the things around you.

In the movie Michael, the busybody reporters are introduced to a series of trivial triumphs as they pay attention to new things like the largest ball of string and the excitement of a little bit of dancing. Is it so bad to take a break and see you a little more.

Do you take the time to stop and smell the roses? Do you stop and look at the sky as the sunset slides across the horizon? Do you find yourself yearning for more or is everything good as is?

It is a series of good questions.

So as the sun sets on another day, I hope you find the time to pay attention to the world and I hope the world shows you the beauty that’s all around you. It’s not so trivial to pay attention to the trivial. Find your way to the best life ever, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and find your way…
